Essential Guidance for Training Mira

Last updated: October 22, 2026

You can give Mira guidance in plain English—just like you would with a new team member.
Guidance shapes how Mira responds in specific situations. Start with a few useful instructions, then refine them as you review client conversations.

Where to Give Mira Guidance

  • Go to Mira > Training.

  • Give guidance at any time directly in a conversation thread in the inbox by clicking “Give Mira feedback”.

  • Use “Tell Mira how to respond” when she escalates a conversation.

Once you tell Mira what to do, she proposes an instruction based on your feedback. Check that it describes the situation and response you intend. Review and save the proposed instruction before it takes effect. Follow the same process when updating an instruction.

Guidance can be specific to a situation—for example, how to refer to your team or what to say when a group request needs staff coordination.

Where to Access FAQs and Saved Training

  • Go to Mira > Training

  • View what knowledge Mira has saved in What Mira Knows

  • To upload a list of existing FAQs, click Import them all at once under What Mira knows.

Saved guidance from conversations with Mira or customer interactions appears in What Mira Knows.

Review it regularly and update anything that no longer reflects your business.

Mira Setup: Understanding Your Settings

Quick Start Guide for Adding Guidance

  1. Choose one situation to improve. Start with a terminology preference or a common request that needs staff coordination.

  2. Explain the response you want. Use one of the examples below as a starting point and adapt it to your business.

  3. Review and save Mira's proposed instruction. Check that it captures your intent accurately.

  4. Refine it as you review conversations. Give feedback in the thread when you spot an opportunity to improve a response.

Examples of Useful Guidance

1. Teach Mira Your Terminology

Tell Mira what you call your team.

“We call our service providers 'artists,' not stylists.”

“Refer to our team members as 'estheticians' when talking about skincare services.”

If your terminology changes, give her updated guidance:

“When referring to our team, use 'artists' instead of 'beauty experts.'”

2. Suggest a Return Visit During a Conversation

Give Mira an appropriate rebooking interval for a specific service.

“When a client asks when to return for a color service, suggest rebooking in 6–8 weeks.”

Use an interval that fits your services and your team's recommendations.

3. Explain When Staff Should Coordinate a Request

Tell Mira how to communicate that a request needs your team's help.

“For group booking requests, escalate to our staff so they can coordinate the appointments.”

“When a group booking request needs staff coordination, explain that our team will need to help coordinate it.”

4. Explain When to Mention an Offer

Add the promotion's details and eligibility to FAQs, then use guidance to explain when to mention it.

Example, if your business has this offer:

“When a new client asks about promotions, mention our 20% off first-visit offer and explain that staff will handle applying the discount.”

What Guidance Can and Can't Change

Guidance shapes Mira's responses within her settings and supported capabilities. Keep these boundaries in mind:

  • Settings control her behavior. Use Mira > Settings > Phone calls > Greeting for phone greetings and Mira > Settings > General > Personality > Tone of voice for general tone. Set service names and prices in Mangomint; names such as “Glow Ritual” must match actual services for booking. Configure cancellation policies and fees in Mangomint in Apps > Settings > Calendar & Appointments > Cancel & Reschedule > Cancellation Policy, and cutoffs in Calendar & Appointments > Cancel & Reschedule.

  • Built-in conversation and booking rules still apply. Mira follows her own conversation-ending rules, offers the closest available appointment time, and uses the waitlist as a last resort when enabled. Guidance does not replace these with custom endings, sequences of alternative times, or waitlist rules.

  • Guidance doesn't add new actions. It cannot enable price changes, applying discounts, double-booking, taking payments, or scheduling future follow-ups. Rebooking suggestions happen during a conversation, not through proactive reminders, and do not create booking restrictions. Mira can communicate age requirements but cannot independently verify age.

  • Channel limitations still apply. Mira does not respond to running-late texts. On calls, she can only leave a note for staff about a late arrival, not assess its impact on later appointments. Group-booking limitations differ between texts and calls; use staff-escalation guidance for coordination.

  • Review requests need care. Do not condition requests on positive feedback. Any review-request guidance should be neutral and reviewed internally before publication.

Keep Business Information Up-to-Date

Maintain facts in the right place so Mira can use accurate information.

  • FAQs: Keep parking, visit-preparation instructions, promotion details, and age requirements current. For example: “We have free parking in the lot behind the building.” Replace this with your actual parking details.

  • Services: Keep service names and descriptions accurate, including treatment details and benefits.

  • Settings: Update booking policies and other configuration when your business changes.

For changes to how Mira should respond, give feedback, review her proposed instruction, and save it.
