How Settings, Guidance, and System Data Work Together
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Settings and system data set the boundaries, while guidance shapes communication.
Business hours determine when the business is open and affect after-hours behavior. Provider schedules determine appointment availability. Mangomint settings control which services and booking actions are available. Conversational guidance tells Mira how to communicate within those limits.
Example 1: Guidance Works Within System Constraints
You tell Mira: “Color appointments should be rebooked every 6 weeks”
Mangomint service duration: 90 minutes
Result: Mira can suggest rebooking in 6 weeks and book the service for its configured 90-minute duration.
Example 2: Provider and Service Setup Controls Availability
You tell Mira: “Sarah does color services”
Sarah is not configured as a service provider with color assigned and online booking enabled
Result: Mira cannot book color with Sarah until her Mangomint setup makes her eligible.
Example 3: Mira Settings Control Rescheduling Behavior
“Allow rescheduling with other providers” is disabled (the default)
A client asks to reschedule an appointment with Maria
Result: Mira stays with Maria's availability rather than offering another provider.
Example 4: Booking Requirements Still Apply
A service may require a card on file or deposit in Mangomint. This is a default booking flow, not a separate Mira setting. Mira never takes card details herself; she uses Mangomint’s Express Booking process to collect the required information or payment.
Calls: For clients booking via phone call, Mira holds the time slot and texts the client a link to add a card or pay the deposit. The appointment is not booked until the client completes that step. If they do not finish within the Express Booking time limit, the slot is released. New callers receive a link to add their contact information in the same way.
Texts: For clients booking via text, Mira sends an Express Booking link and does not hold the time slot.
Follow-up: If the client has not completed the step, Mira sends a reminder after 5 minutes and flags the conversation for staff after 15 minutes.
